About the role

As the Payroll Officer in our People & Culture team, you will be responsible for accurate and timely processing of a fortnightly payroll, payroll reporting, champion statutory compliance and ownership of the T&A System (Deputy). Additionally, we are looking for someone who has the experience and drive to join the Implementation Team to assist with implementing a new payroll system (Employment Hero) as part of our digital transformation process.

Here, you’ll be a pivotal part of a vibrant team, reporting into the General Manager People & Culture and regularly engaging with our Finance team.   • Ensure fortnightly pay runs are completed and approved on time.
  • Interpretation of applicable awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Ensure payroll and T&A system data is well maintained and up to date.
  • Payroll reporting/analysis and statutory requirements are successfully managed.
  • Manage reconciliation processes so that accurate data is posted to Finance.
  • Processing superannuation.
  • Lead and coordinate on-going reviews and audits of our pay system/processes.
  • Lead and ensure regulatory compliance of the payroll function.
  • Drive efficiency through continuous process improvement.
  • Contribute as the payroll expert for IT transformation projects.
  • Act as the core conduit between payroll, finance and people functions.


Who are we looking for?

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience managing all aspects of payroll.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all payroll legislative requirements.
  • Understanding of National Employment Standards and Fair Work Guidelines.
  • Understanding of Time and Attendance systems.
  • Experience working with multiple payroll, T&A and HCM systems would be advantageous.
  • Experience in award interpretation and application across multiple awards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to influence, engage and support key stakeholders whilst maintaining the collaborative culture.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to ensure best practice payroll and workplace outcomes.
